Beginner's Lesson

If you would like to learn to play pickleball, you can sign up for a free beginner's lesson by sending an email to training@pickleballstalbert.ca with your full name, email address, phone number and the subject "Free Beginner Lesson."

You will then be contacted within a couple of days regarding the next available lesson dates. This is a popular activity so we are often booked several weeks in advance.  After getting a lesson confirmation, if the lesson gets canceled, you would get an email too.

These lessons are open to the public. SAPC membership is not required. They are a great way to try out the sport!

Beginner's lessons are normally held every Sunday of the month, at 9 am, in the gymnasium of the Red Willow Community Church. Lessons may also be given at the Alpine Courts.

No previous experience is needed. Balls and paddles are provided. Gym attire is optional. For indoor play, court or running shoes are required and they must be clean and only ever used indoors. Running shoes are required for outdoor play as well.

Participants in beginner's lessons must also comply with government, venue and club safety protocols. These are summarized in a Guide to Indoor Play article on our home page

See the New Member's FAQ for answers to more questions.
