We are pleased to invite you to a special SAPC Membership Meeting where we will vote on an exciting and important proposal: building our own indoor pickleball courts—a transformative step toward securing the club’s long-term success and meeting the needs of our growing community.

Why Your Participation Matters

As many of you know, our club faces a serious challenge: limited, inconsistent, and expensive access to indoor pickleball courts. This has restricted our programming, reduced play opportunities, and even caused some members to leave the club. Without a reliable indoor home, our club cannot fully live up to its mandate.

What We’re Proposing

After extensive analysis, the Board is recommending that SAPC lease and refurbish a building to house at least four dedicated indoor pickleball courts. This facility would provide:

  • 365-day access with consistent morning-to-evening play
  • Stable, prime-time court availability we control—not borrow
  • Year-round leagues, ladders, coaching, and youth programs
  • Space for tournaments, group rentals, and community initiatives
  • A true club home with social space—a place to gather, grow, and belong

Affordable and Achievable

Financial projections show that once refurbished, the facility can pay for itself through normal operations—member play sessions, rentals, coaching programs, tournaments, and more. Matching grants further reduce project costs, and no increase to base membership fees is required.

We will continue to run SAPC sessions at St. Albert schools as part of a balanced indoor strategy.

Why Now

Our club is at a turning point. Indoor courts will strengthen member retention, support steady growth, and ensure SAPC continues to offer high-quality programming for all levels—from beginners to advanced players. Many clubs that transitioned indoors have seen increased engagement, satisfaction, and volunteer involvement. It’s our turn to build that same foundation.

This Meeting Is Your Opportunity to Show your Active Support and to Shape Our Future

This is more than a vote on a building—it’s a vote on the club’s direction, stability, and ability to serve you and future members for years to come. We encourage every member to attend, ask questions, and cast a vote.

Together, we can build a permanent home for our club and secure the future of pickleball in St. Albert.

Warm regards,

SAPC Board of Directors
